Bloomberg is looking for the most innovative startups in Africa – BNN Bloomberg

(Bloomberg) — An African company pioneered the mobile money space, helping millions of people conduct banking transactions in the absence of a solid financial infrastructure.

That was almost two decades ago. The continent still faces challenges in providing electricity to 600 million people, limiting the effects of devastating climate change and increasing crop yields.

And its startups, which now have access to advanced technologies such as generative artificial intelligence, can help alleviate these difficulties and make life easier for the world’s youngest population.

This year we are launching our inaugural African Startups to Watch list to find the smartest ideas and founders from across the continent.

We believe that diversity – of founders, employees, locations, environments and ideas – creates the coolest companies, and we hope the final product reflects this.

If your startup was created to meet the challenges of Africa, has a unique idea that has gained recognition from investors and customers and is privately owned, send us your application.

We will ask you to show how your product works and tell us about external financing.

We will meet the companies in the first quarter of 2025. Startups on the list will be profiled on Bloomberg TV and our other platforms.

Please send your application by November 8. We need enough qualitative and detailed information to have a good understanding of your business model, customer requirements and what makes your product unique. Specific claims will always replace general claims.

Apply here.
