Belpre Chamber slates annual dinner Oct. 24 | News, Sports, Jobs

VIENNA — The Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 86th annual dinner, called Cruising First Class, beginning at 5:30 pm Oct. 24 at the Grand Pointe Conference and Reception Center, 1500 Grand Central Ave., Vienna.

Tickets for the buffet-style meal are $65 and are available by calling 740-423-8934, through links contained in chamber communication or at www.belprechamber.com under the Events tab. Sponsorships that include publicity and tickets are available by contacting the Belpre Area Chamber of Commerce office.

Social Time will be held from 5:30-6 pm Social Time appetizers and Coffee Break will focus on networking and greeting friends and business contacts. Dessert specialty cupcakes will be featured.

In keeping with the theme, the dinner will highlight chamber members who are Captains of their Ships.

Focus Captain speaker is Lindsey Kerr Piersol, executive director of the Parkersburg-Wood County Area Development Corp.

Piersol was named a Young Gun in the Class of 2024 by “West Virginia Executive Magazine,” calling her one of 10 exceptional West Virginians who are recognized each year “for their ongoing work to improve the world around them.”

Other Captains will speak on their voyages to business success.

It will be a night of networking with great people, valuable information, great food, and, of course, some fun. Thank you for helping to make this Chamber the best in the Mid-Ohio Valley and we hope to see you there.”

The dinner and celebration is the culmination of a great year and focuses on Chamber and member performances, Walters said.

“Get ready for one of the most anticipated events of the year. “Step into an evening filled with food, drinks, music, awards and camaraderie,” said Tammy Belcher, president and CEO of 1st Mutual Bank vice-president of the Board of Directors and chairman of the Connections Committee.“We’re looking forward to celebrating another year with you.”

Ben Bradley of Sow-N-Sew and Sun will be the Master of Ceremonies.

Hayley Watson Keffer, a singer and entertainer from Zanesville, will create the atmosphere of a cruise ship lounge with her singing, personality and different music genres.

Chamber members have been asked to share their stories as they have become Captains of their Ships.

A feature of the event includes videos presented during the 5:30 pm social time spotlighting Platinum Sponsors and other supporters and a Year in Review.

Stand-out businesses, individuals and organizations will be placed in the spotlight during the Night of Awards.

Awards will include Belpre Citizen of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Spirit of the Chamber, Businessperson of the Year, Spirit of the Community, Business of the Year and Non-profit of the Year. The Chamber Business Marketing Funding winner also will be announced.
