As Apple plans to launch the new iPhone SE in 2025, this iconic feature will be missed. Check it out

Apple is preparing to introduce a new version of its iPhone SE along with updated iPad Air models, scheduled for release in early 2025. According to reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new iPhone SE, called internally “V59”, will become Apple’s flagship product and a budget-friendly option. The new iPhone SE will not have the Home button characteristic of this series, which will be a novelty in this offer. At the same time, refreshed iPads and improved keyboard accessories are also expected.

iPhone SE (2025): Technical data (expected)

This will be the first iPhone SE update since 2022, when the device received 5G capabilities. The upcoming version is said to ditch the traditional home button in favor of a sleek edge-to-edge display.

The updated design, reminiscent of the iPhone 14, will likely feature a notch, making it more in line with Apple’s premium models. These changes are aimed at strengthening Apple’s position in the affordable smartphone segment, where competition from Android devices such as Huawei and Xiaomi is fierce.

The iPhone SE, currently priced at $429, is a more economical option than the flagship iPhone models, but in terms of cost it still outperforms many budget Android phones.

It is worth noting that the new SE is expected to support Apple’s upcoming AI tools known as “Apple Intelligence”, which will also be compatible with the iPhone 16 and some versions of the iPhone 15.

iPad Air (2025): Technical data (expected)

In addition to the iPhone SE, Apple plans updates to the iPad Air. Codenamed “J607” and “J637”, these tablets will feature internal improvements and will feature an improved Magic Keyboard that will offer some features that were previously only available on the iPad Pro keyboard. This year’s iPad Air already introduces the M2 chip and a 13-inch screen option, but further improvements are expected next year.

Additionally, Apple is working on a new iPad Mini, potentially arriving in late 2024, as well as a refreshed lineup of Mac computers. The updated Macs, including the improved Mac mini, MacBook Pro and iMac, will feature the Apple M4 chip and advanced AI integration. Further Mac updates, including MacBook Air and Mac Pro, are expected in 2025.

Apple has not provided any official comments about these upcoming products, so this report should be taken with a pinch of salt.
