A technical issue that prevented many Bank of America customers from accessing their bank accounts on Wednesday has been fully resolved, according to the bank.

Reports of problems accessing bank accounts spiked around 1 p.m. EST, when the Downdetector website reported approximately 20,266 outages.

“Some mobile and online banking customers today experienced issues accessing their accounts and balance information,” Bank of America said in a statement. “These technological issues have been fully resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Bank of America did not specify what caused the problem.

Bank of America Outage: People Complained About Account Balances

On Wednesday, people complained that their account balances weren’t visible on the app, and others said they could access their accounts but had a $0 balance.

“The app is down and online banking shows yesterday’s balance,” one user told Downdetector.

“BoA access to BoA in the app and in the browser remains at least partially disabled for us,” another user said. “I can now see some of our accounts, but not all of them. The cross-account transfer feature remains non-functional for all accounts.”
