McDonald’s Finally Bringing the Chicken Big Mac to the United States – Indianapolis News | Weather in Indiana | Indiana traffic

New York (CNN) — When McDonald’s launched the Chicken Big Mac in the UK, it sold out within 10 days. Now he’s probably hoping for similar success in the United States.

Starting Thursday, October 10, the highly anticipated sandwich will be sold for a limited time at McDonald’s locations across the US. The Big Mac Chicken is similar to its muscular siblings; however, it replaces the two burgers with two tempura chicken patties. It also includes the signature Big Mac sauce, pickles, shredded lettuce and a slice of American cheese.

McDonald’s has been a vocal advocate for adding more chicken, which is generally cheaper than beef, to its menu. CEO Chris Kempczinski said in his latest earnings call that he was focused on adding “chicken-like growth factors” to try to reverse declining sales. He added that chicken sales in restaurants now equal beef sales.

In a press release Thursday, McDonald’s says its customers have been “crying out” for the Chicken Big Mac after it previously appeared on the chain’s menus around the world. Its (brief) launch in the UK and Ireland in 2022 was the chain’s “most popular sandwich launch ever” in those countries.

The Chicken Big Mac has previously appeared briefly in the US: in 2022, McDonald’s released it as a test in some Miami restaurants to gather customer feedback.

All fast food chains are fighting for dollars from American diners who don’t go to restaurants as often and when they do, they spend less, causing fast food sales to slow and restaurant traffic to decline.

As a result, companies released nutritious meals, new products and special promotions to increase sales. McDonald’s is currently testing a new burger in Canada called the Big Arch, which consists of two patties, cheese, crispy topping and a spicy sauce, which, if successful, could be imported to the United States.

McDonald’s $5 meal deal will remain on the menu through December, which likely means inflation-weary customers are gobbling it up. The network published the results in November.
