The release date of Dav Pilkey’s Mission Impawsible adaptation has been revealed

Dog fans rejoice! The debut half-dog, half-human video game will launch on December 6, 2024on Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Created by Floor 84 and Mindscape, Dog Man: Mission Unbeatable has a new trailer showing off the gameplay players can expect.

What’s included in Dog Man: Mission Impawsible?

In Dog Man: Mission Impawsible, Dog Man and his Supa pals chase the bad guys through 50 different levels spanning 5 worlds. This includes iconic Dog Man locations such as City Hall, the Giant Marshmallow Factory, and the Police Station. Each level contains both platforming challenges and puzzles for players to solve.

Players can switch between different characters, each with their own unique abilities. Here are the characters and a brief description of their abilities:

  • Dog: Digs underground and glides through the air.

  • Li’l Petey: Hacks gadgets and fits into small spaces.

  • 80-HD: Pushes heavy objects and jumps long distances.

Players can unlock new gadgets and skills to progress through 50 different levels. These gadgets include a grappling hook, rocket boots, and electric gloves. Players can also revisit levels with newly acquired gadgets to find secret areas and rescue Comic Club members. The game will also feature dialogues and visuals expected by fans of the series.

Dog Man is a series of books by Dav Pilkey, the author behind Captain Underpants. As of 2016, the Dog Man series currently consists of 12 volumes, with the 13th installment Big Jim Begins scheduled for release in December 2024.

In September, Universal Pictures released a trailer for the animated film Dog Man. Premiere on January 31, 2025. DreamWorks Animation is working on the adaptation. The cast includes Lil Rel Howery as Chief, Pete Davidson as Petey the Cat, Isla Fisher as Sarah Hatoff, Poppy Liu as Butler, Stephen Root as Grandpa, Billy Boyd as Seamus and Ricky Gervais as Flippy. The film was directed by Peter Hastings and produced by Karen Foster.
