iOS 18.0.1 is now available for iPhone. Here’s what’s new

As expected, Apple is now rolling out iOS 18.0.1 to iPhone users. This update comes three weeks after iOS 18 was publicly released. The update includes key bug fixes for iPhone users that affect the camera, Messages, performance, and more.

Below you’ll find the full release notes and details on what’s new.

The build number of iOS 18.0.1 is 22A3370. The update is available for all iPhones that support iOS 18. Just go to the Settings app, select “General,” and then select “Software Update.” The update will download and install after your iPhone restarts.

iOS 18.0.1 version information

Apple says iOS 18.0.1 “includes important bug fixes and security updates for your iPhone.”

  • In some circumstances, the touchscreen may temporarily become unresponsive on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models
  • Camera may freeze when recording Macro video with the Ultra Wide camera at 4K resolution with HDR disabled on iPhone 16 Pro models
  • Messages may stop working unexpectedly when you reply to a message using a shared Apple Watch face
  • Performance may be affected by a memory allocation issue on some iPhones

Since the release of iOS 18 earlier this month, there have been fewer significant bugs and glitches. For example, there’s an issue in Messages that causes the app to crash frequently and can lead to data loss, as we first discovered last week. As we reported last week, some iOS 18 and iPhone 16 users have also noticed issues with touchscreen responsiveness. iOS 18.0.1 solves both of these problems.

Apple has also released iPadOS 18.0.1 with bug fixes. This update also means that iPadOS 18 is available again for iPad M4 Pro, following reports that the update caused some devices to become stuck.

While iOS 18.0.1 will focus on bug fixes and other improvements, Apple is also working on iOS 18.1. This update will include the first Apple Intelligence features and a number of other changes. Apple has confirmed that iOS 18.1 will be released in October.
