Amazon has partnered with India Post to improve its last-mile delivery network

Over the last 2-3 years, India Post’s footprint in the Amazon logistics network has more than doubled, with collection points increasing from 6 to 13 locations across the country

The e-commerce platforms collectively achieved gross merchandise value (GMV) of around INR 47,000 Cr, up 19% year-on-year (YoY).

E-commerce giant Amazon has partnered with India Post to facilitate deliveries to customers using any PIN in the country.

Under the MoU, Amazon will leverage India Posts’ last-mile delivery network, enabling the former to increase delivery speed, efficiency and reach, especially in remote and rural locations.

Through this partnership, both platforms will focus on streamlining operations, maximizing efficiency, optimizing resource utilization and exploring capacity sharing across their logistics networks.

India Post’s footprint in Amazon’s logistics network has more than doubled in the last 2-3 years, with collection points increasing from 6 to 13 locations across the country, the e-commerce major said in a statement.

“Our partnership with India Post has played a key role in Amazon’s growth story in India and has contributed to e-commerce becoming a nationwide phenomenon. By joining forces with this iconic institution that has been serving India for decades, we have been able to create new benchmarks in logistics and customer service time and time again over the years,” said Abhinav Singh, Vice President, Operations, Amazon India.

This development occurs a week later Amazonia India signed memorandum of understanding

(MoU) with the Ministry of Labor and Employment to post job vacancies in its corporate offices and operational network on the National Career Service (NCS) portal.

In the same month to scale boosting sales for the upcoming holiday season, Amazon has increased commissions for over 50,000 creators who are part of its influencer marketing network.

Also last month Amazon India fired three new fulfillment centers in Delhi NCR, Guwahati and Patna serving over 2.5 lakh sellers in the region.

The e-commerce platforms collectively achieved gross merchandise value (GMV) of around INR 47,000, up 19% year-on-year (YoY) in just the first week of festive season sales in 2023.
