Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé’s duet is once again a top 40 hit

TikTok has been turning emerging talents and relatively unknown people in the music world into superstars for years – if only for a moment. Record labels regularly look to the social media app for the next hot song or performance, but that’s not the platform’s only role in releasing successful songs.

Sometimes, TikTok users turn a song from years ago – usually one that has been largely forgotten – into a hit. TikTokers are often younger, and there have been many cases where they discovered a snippet together and used it in thousands of videos, bringing meaning back to the title.

The exact same thing happened this week with two of the biggest names in the music industry. Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé debut their only duet on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart this week, well over a decade after it first premiered.

The superstar pair launches their “Until the End of Time” collaboration on the TikTok Billboard Top 50, which showcases the most used and heard songs on TikTok in each frame. The single begins its time on the chart at number 39, again becoming a top 40 hit.

Timberlake and Queen Bey’s song is one of 15 debuts on Billboard’s Top 50 TikTok Songs chart this week. Only three songs rank lower, but the two Grammy champions manage to beat out names like Playboi Carti, Travis Scott and NLE Choppa.

“Until the End of Time” is Timberlake’s second hit on the TikTok-only chart. Beyoncé ranks sixth in her career, and this new victory marks her first ranking collaboration.

The two musicians released “Until the End of Time” in 2007 as the final single from Timberlake’s hit album FutureSex/LoveSounds. The track was originally a solo production, but when it was picked up for promotion, Bey jumped on board and turned it into a must-listen.

“Until the End of Time” climbed to No. 17 on the Hot 100, giving both stars another Top 20 victory. It was also a hit across a variety of radio formats including dance, R&B and pop. Although the song was dropped for a major occasion, it didn’t remain a favorite of many Timberlake or Beyoncé fans – but now it seems to have gained a new fanbase.
