During the last day, 159 combat clashes occurred on the front lines

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook, providing an operational update from 08:00 on Saturday, October 5.

According to updated information, yesterday the Russian army carried out three missile attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements using four rockets, as well as 67 airstrikes, including the dropping of 135 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, over 4,400 shellings were carried out, including 161 from multiple rocket launchers.

The enemy carried out air raids on Stepne, Obody, Bilokopytove, Yastrubyne, Pavlivka, Bondarivshchyna, Myrlohy, Katerynivka, Kharkov, Wowchansk, Bilashi, Hlushkivka, Nadiya, Iziumske, Zarichne, Ozerne, Lyman, Zakitne, Pereizne, Riznykivka, Yurkiivka, Chasiv Yar, Toreck , Katerynivka, Pokrovsk, Selydove, Velyka Nowosilka, Nesterianka, Kushuhum and Stepnohirsk.

Over the past day, aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck eight concentrations of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as one air defense system, one artillery in a firing position, three command posts, one drone control point and one station enemy radar.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces continued offensive and assault operations, and four combat clashes took place in the areas of Staritsa, Vovchansk and Tykhe.

In the Kupyansk sector, the number of attacks increased to 22 during the day. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Pishhane, Stelmachivka and Lozova.

In the Lyman area, Ukrainian troops foiled 15 attacks by the Russian army near Nevsk, Hrekivka, Makyivka, Novosadov and Torsk.

In the Siversk area, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled three assaults during which the enemy tried to attack near Verkhnyokamianske and Vyimki.

In the Kramatorsk area, Ukrainian forces stopped nine attempts to break through enemy defenses. The occupiers concentrated their main efforts, supported by aviation, in the area of ​​Khasov Yar, Kalynivka, Stupoczki and Andriivka.

In the Toretsk area, the enemy carried out 14 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, and also carried out air raids using guided bombs.

In the Pokrovsk area, Ukrainian troops repelled 15 assaults and attacks in the area of ​​Mykolaivka, Sieldovka and Lysovka, where the enemy supported by aviation tried to displace Ukrainian units from their positions.

In the Kurakhov area, Ukrainian defenders stopped enemy attacks near Tsukuryne, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Antonivka, Kostiantynivka and towards Bohoyavlenka, where the enemy tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 28 times.

In the Orichów section, there were four combat clashes in the areas of Robotyne, Małe Szczerbaky and Kamianske.

In the Volhynia and Polesie sectors, the operational situation remains unchanged. No signs of formation of enemy offensive groups were observed.

According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations in Russia’s Kursk region.

The enemy maintains a military presence on the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts, shelling settlements from Russian territory and conducting reconnaissance and sabotage operations against Ukraine.

“The fight is taking place almost along the entire line of contact. Ukrainian defenders stop enemy attacks. Our artillery, reconnaissance, air and drone systems conduct combat operations aimed at exhausting enemy forces,” the General Staff added.

According to Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24, 2022 to October 5, 2024 amount to approximately 659,220 people, including 1,280 in the last 24 hours.
