Joaquin Buckley and Daniel Cormier get angry during an interview when they talk about their ongoing feud

This Saturday at UFC 307, Joaquin Buckley will face the toughest test of his career so far, fighting Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, but before that he tried to break his feud with Daniel Cormier.

Joaquin Buckley, who is now on a four-fight win streak, had the opportunity to fight in the top 10 of the division against fan favorite Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.

Although Thompson is 1-3 in his last four fights, the 41-year-old recently admitted that he is not considering retirement and has instead set himself a new goal.

Joaquin Buckley and Daniel Cormier fume in interview after online dispute

Following “New Mansa’s” recent victory over Nursulton Ruziboev, the 30-year-old called for a fight against Conor McGregor, which UFC commentator Daniel Cormier described as “the worst call of all time.”

The two then scrolled through Cormier’s comments online and it seemed like things were starting to get pretty feisty.

Still, ahead of Buckley’s fight this Saturday, a UFC commentator interviewed him on his YouTube channel and the two talked about their weaknesses, and things got heated once again.

“We are men, so we need to talk,” Cormier began to explain.

“On the Internet we can shout, we can scream, we can do all this, but when we meet face to face, we have to communicate, we have to talk to each other, so my question to you is: where have we gone off track? you and me?” Cormier asked Buckley.

“Honestly, this post and what you said (about the worst call ever) was on my mind from the beginning. I just feel like you misquoted me, that’s all, about Conor McGregor and him calling him names… It was about other things you said. “You said I called Conor McGregor’s mother wrong, but I didn’t,” Buckley replied.

The two began to heat up as Buckley explained that in his post-fight interview he claimed that McGregor’s mother had gone “f**k.”

“But here’s the problem, you can’t say mom raised ah*e because you keep talking about this guy’s mom, it’s disrespectful, Joaquin… Come on man, we can’t do it, we just don’t do it,” he retaliated Cormier.

The former UFC double champion went on to explain that it was reminiscent of a situation he had with bitter rival Jon Jones when “Bones” claimed to be Cormier’s “dad.”

Joaquin Buckley admits he would prefer to talk without cameras

Following his interview with Cormier, Buckley completed his media duties at media day ahead of the biggest fight of his career.

In a conversation with the current “New Mansa” media, he admitted that, in his opinion, the conversation between him and Cormier would take place only between the two of them, behind closed doors and without cameras.

“I just got off the phone with DC. It was cool, we stood in front of the camera. I thought we would be alone in a room and just talk like men. But that’s how it is. We had a good conversation… Off camera, just between people. I would prefer that kind of conversation,” Buckley said.
