Launch of Sony LinkBuds Fit, LinkBuds Open and LinkBuds Speaker

Sony has launched three new products under its LinkBuds line. This includes two new true wireless earbuds, namely the LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open, as well as the new LinkBuds speaker.

Sony LinkBuds Fit, LinkBuds Open and LinkBuds Speaker Malaysia pricing and availability

Currently, three new LinkBuds products are yet to be made available in the Malaysian market, with pre-orders for the products starting from November 1, 2024. However, pricing details for LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open have already been published on the Sony Malaysia website at RM999 everyone.

To be shared from the beginning January next year (2025)Price details for the Sony LinkBuds speaker are not yet available in the Malaysian market. For context, it retails for $180 (approximately RM760) in the US.

Sony LinkBuds Fit specifications and features

As the name suggests, Sony LinkBuds Fit are marketed as true wireless headphones designed for people leading an active lifestyle. It features newly developed Air Fitting brackets and earphone tips that Sony says allow the headphones to be worn comfortably all day long. For durability, the Sony LinkBuds Fit headphones have an IPX4 waterproof rating.

In terms of audio, the Sony LinkBuds feature the Japanese brand’s Dynamic Driver They also support the brand’s wireless high-resolution audio and Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) Extreme audio upscaling.

Like the LinkBuds S, the LinkBuds Fit also feature Sony’s active noise cancellation (ANC) technology. There is also Auto Ambient Sound Mode, which, as the name suggests, automatically adjusts the level of ambient sounds pumped into the headphones, depending on the user’s surroundings.

Sony has also equipped LinkBuds Fit with an Auto Switch feature that automatically switches playback between LinkBuds depending on the situation or user needs, as well as an Auto Play feature that plays music according to your routines. These features are also available on LinkBuds Open and LinkBuds Speaker.

LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open also offer a multipoint connection feature that allows the user to easily switch between two audio sources without having to perform a standard Bluetooth reconnection. Sony claims the LinkBuds Fit’s battery provides up to 21 hours of playback.

In terms of colors, the Sony LinkBuds Fit are available in black, white or green. Sony also continued its collaboration with singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo and offers LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open in the artist’s signature purple color, along with two custom audio equalizers and an EQ user interface designed by Olivia.

Sony LinkBuds Open Specs and Features

Sony LinkBuds Open, essentially the successor to the original LinkBuds launched in 2022, are the brand’s latest open-style true wireless earbuds, featuring improvements that Sony says it has made based on customer feedback.

The Sony LinkBuds Open headphones feature an open-ring design and feature a newly developed 11mm driver placed inside, so users can still hear their surroundings. For all-day wearing comfort, Sony designed the LinkBuds Open with Fiiting’s new lightweight brackets. Like LinkBuds Fit, LinkBuds Open also features an integrated Sony V2 processor and Sony’s DSEE audio upscaling.

Sony claims the LinkBuds Open has a battery life of up to 22 hours of total playback. It has an IPX4 waterproof rating and is available in three colors, including black, white and purple Olivia Rodrigo.

Sony LinkBuds speakers specifications and features

The Sony LinkBuds speaker is equipped with the brand’s X-Balanced speaker module, tweeter and passive diaphragms. Sony claims that this allows the latest Bluetooth speaker to deliver clear and balanced sound. LinkBuds also offers the best-in-class call quality of any Sony wireless speaker and is equipped with echo cancellation.

For easy portability, the Sony LinkBuds speaker comes with a detachable strap. It also has an IPX4 waterproof rating, so you can enjoy your music whether it’s raining or shining. It has a rated battery life of up to 25 hours and is offered in two color options – light gray and black.
