‘Full list’: Forbes unveils 10 youngest billionaires in 2024, led by Mark Zuckerberg

  • Forbes published a list of 400 billionaires, 10 of whom are the youngest in the world
  • The ten youngest billionaires come from technology, cryptocurrency, real estate, retail and venture capital
  • Forbes reported that about two dozen people on the list are over 90, while the average age on the list is 70.

The 2024 Forbes 400 list highlights the 10 youngest billionaires in the industrial, technology, venture capital and real estate sectors.

However, a select group at younger ages achieved a net worth of at least $3.3 billion.

According to the list, there are 26 billionaires under the age of 50, including two in their 30s.

The 10 youngest billionaires, all aged 42 or younger, have a combined net worth of approximately $273 billion, spanning the retail, venture capital, technology, cryptocurrency and fast food sectors.

Lukas Walton: Age: 38, net worth: $33.9 billion

Lucas is the youngest on the list and is the heir to the Walton family fortune, owner of Walmart.

He inherited the estate after his father, John Walton, died in a plane crash in 2005.

Josh Kushner: Age: 39, net worth: $3.8 billion

Josh founded Thrive Capital, a venture capital firm that invested in high-profile tech startups such as Instagram, Spotify, and Slack.

He comes from a famous real estate family, his father, Charles Kushner, who founded the family dynasty, and his sibling, Jared Kushner, who plays a significant role in the family business.

Dustin Moskovitz: Age: 40, net worth: $14.3 billion

Moskovitz is the co-founder of Facebook, now called Meta. He founded the social media network with Mark Zuckerberg when they were roommates at Harvard University.

He left Facebook in 2008 and founded Asana, a workflow software company.

Mark Zuckerberg: Age: 40, net worth: $181 billion

According to the Forbes list, Mark Zuckerberg is the third richest American and is the CEO of Meta.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads, has seen its stock price rise 75% in the last year.

Zuckerberg’s net worth has increased significantly, increasing his net worth by approximately $75 billion over the past 12 months.

Nathan Blecharczyk: Age: 41, net worth: $7.9 billion

Nathan Blecharczyk is the co-founder of Airbnb and serves as the company’s chief strategy officer.

He was instrumental in creating the company’s original website and overseeing its data analytics, payments and marketing teams.

The Carvana co-founder’s net worth is estimated at $4.6 billion. The e-commerce platform known for car showrooms was initially a subsidiary of his father’s used car company DriveTime.

Legit.ng had earlier reported that the total wealth of Nigerian billionaires in the first quarter of 2024 was $27.8 billion, according to the Forbes Real-Time Billionaire List.

However, in the second quarter of 2024, this amount dropped sharply to $27.3 billion, a decline of approximately 1.8%.

The decline continued in the third quarter, when their wealth fell further to $24.9 billion, an 8.8% decline from the last quarter.
