The Pablo Center at Confluence announces a change of leadership and a new era of growth

EAU CLAIRE, Wisconsin (PABLO CENTER IN THE CONFLUENCE PRESS RELEASE) – Pablo Center at Confluence announces that Executive Director Jason Jon Anderson has stepped down from his position, effective October 1, 2024. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jason for his extraordinary leadership and contributions during his tenure and we are happy to wish Jason all the best as he leaves the Pablo Center to formally focus his advocacy talents at the state and national levels at WIVA – the Wisconsin Independent Venue Association and NIVA – the National Independent Venue Association.

Jason’s journey with Pablo Center began in March 2015 when he joined the board of directors of Confluence Council, Inc. as an At-Large Fellow while also serving as Associate Director of Conferences and Event Production at UW-Eau Claire. In October 2017, Jason was named interim executive director of the Confluence project to oversee the final stages of construction. Following a nationwide search, he was named the Pablo Center’s first executive director, leading it through its grand opening in fall 2018.

Since then, Jason has played a key role in shaping the Pablo Center’s identity, growing our staff, expanding our performance offerings, and enriching the artist and guest experiences for which we are known throughout the region. His leadership was especially notable during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Jason’s support at the state and national levels was instrumental in the formation of the National Independent Facilities Association (NIVA). NIVA led efforts on the $16.8 billion Indoor Venues Operators Grant (SVOG), which contributed more than $240 million to cultural venues and institutions in Wisconsin.

We appreciate Jason’s hard work, dedication and vision in leading the Pablo Center to become a vital part of our community’s cultural landscape. His contributions have played a key role in shaping who we are today and we are deeply grateful for his leadership over the years. Jason’s vision and commitment have left an indelible mark on our organization, and we are excited to continue his advocacy work at the state and national levels through the Wisconsin Independent Venue Association (WIVA) and NIVA.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that Monica Frederick, our director of development, will serve as interim executive director while we conduct a nationwide search for a candidate for the position. Monica has played a key role in the development of the Pablo Center, working closely with the leadership team to shape our continued success. Her unwavering passion for the Pablo Center, commitment to our mission and strong leadership will guide us through this new chapter.

With Monika at the helm, Pablo Center is well positioned for further growth and success. The board and leadership team remain fully committed to our mission of providing exceptional cultural experiences to the community. Monica’s leadership signals the beginning of an exciting new era that paves the way for a positive and vibrant future.

We are confident that Monica’s knowledge and deep connection to the Pablo Center will enable us to continue to grow and elevate the arts throughout the Chippewa Valley. Under her leadership, the Pablo Center will remain a dynamic cultural force in the region.

As we begin this next chapter, we are more committed than ever to our community. Under Monica’s leadership, we look forward to seeing the Pablo Center continue to grow, inspire and enrich the lives of all we serve.
