3 teams are in danger of falling out of the AP Top 25 in the 9th week

This upcoming slate of games is just as riveting, as it will shake up many of the current SEC teams ranked this week. AP Top 25. In the SEC alone, there are three matchups that feature a game with both teams ranked.

In the rest of sports, 24th-seeded Navy tries to put 12th-seeded Notre Dame on alert, while 17th-seeded Boise State tries to keep its playoff hopes alive with a win over UNLV. Illinois, the No. 20 seed in the Big Ten, travels to Eugene to play top-seeded Oregon. Indiana looks to continue its historic undefeated start against Washington and keep No. 4 Ohio State team Nebraska at Ohio Stadium.

15 Alabama (5-2)

Winning is as important to us as ever Alabama after suffering their second defeat of the season. It’s crazy to say, but if Alabama loses, it will likely be removed from the AP top 25 poll before Kalen DeBoer’s first season.

The Crimson Tide lost to Vanderbilt, Tennessee and a third conference loss to Missouri would effectively open up a spot in the AP Top 25 poll for one of the potentially stronger Group of 5 teams.

As of right now, Alabama’s win over Georgia appears to be the only thing keeping it in the AP Top 25 poll. Maybe their start to the season masked this, but their offense didn’t look great and that was prevalent in both losses. Jalen Milroe needs to be better, period. If they hadn’t forced three turnovers against Georgia, I’m not sure their offense would have been able to keep going.

This season could get out of control for Alabama if it manages to fall from the top tier. And that could start in Week 9.

No. 18 Ole Miss (5-2)

It’s a lot like Alabama, ole miss He has two losses before November and is eyeing an exit from the AP poll. The Rebels have yet to win well this season and Georgia was allowed to play their final game of the regular season. A loss against a struggling Oklahoma team doesn’t look good. While Jaxson Dart is talented, he needs to be better than he was last week against LSU.

The Rebels have been very inconsistent this season. Some games look dominant, while others don’t seem to deserve to be in the AP poll. The Rebels have one of the easiest schedules in the SEC, so two losses isn’t ideal anyway.

They passed the ball in the loss to LSU because it was their best contest this season, and it was a back-and-forth game that ultimately went the Tigers’ way. The media won’t be so kind if it comes down to Brent Venables and the Sooners.

No. 21 Missouri (6-1)

It’s no surprise that all three teams are SEC programs. The SEC is by far the most loaded conference this season and could dominate much of the CFP field come December. But Missouri won’t be one of the teams that loses to Bama this weekend.

The Tigers haven’t been performing very well this season, and Alabama will be the best win on their schedule, which means a lot. The Crimson Tide are arguably the most talented team Mizzou has ever played; But Texas A&M needs to say a few words. They are already near the bottom of the poll with one loss. A second loss could effectively eliminate them from the AP Top 25.

Missouri has a pretty easy schedule this season. In their toughest game of the season, the Tigers lost to Texas A&M by a score of 41-10. At the time, Missouri was a top 10 team. They are hanging by a thread in the AP poll and a loss would inevitably knock them out.
