The investment plan, to be implemented in 2024-2025, includes the construction of a 93 MW photovoltaic park in the Malargüe department. This project will cover an area of 312 hectares and will include over 160,000 photovoltaic modules, requiring an investment of USD 90 million. Additionally, Anchoris Solar Park will be built in the department of Luján de Cuyo. It will have an installed capacity of 180 MW and almost 360,000 solar panels spread over 395 hectares, requiring an investment of $160 million.

These projects are expected to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, preventing nearly 300,000 tons of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere, and providing clean energy to more than 160,000 homes. At peak construction, approximately 1,200 jobs will be created, providing specialized training in the operation and maintenance of solar parks, thereby strengthening the local value chain.

Governor Cornejo welcomed Gennea’s investment, stating: “These investments are fundamental to positioning the province as a leader in the energy transition and clearly demonstrate Mendoza’s commitment to economic and social development in harmony with environmental concerns.”

Bernardo Andrews, CEO of Genneia, expressed his pride in the investment plan, saying: “This $250 million investment in Mendoza underscores our commitment to continue to grow and maintain our leadership position in supporting the energy transition, industrial decarbonization and local job creation.”

Earlier this year, Genneia achieved a milestone by reaching 1 GW (1,004 MW) of installed capacity, a first in Argentina, contributing significantly to the decarbonization of the country’s energy matrix and supporting Argentina’s international commitments.
