RANKS of the Guyana Police Force Regional Division Number Three conducted a “cordon and search” operation at two houses in West Coast Demerara (WCD) last Monday between 4:35 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Ranks first visited the Den Amstel squatter area, West Coast Demerara (WCD), home of Micheal Charles called “Mikey”, a 41-year-old seller.

According to police, during the search, the suspects found 187.9 grams of marijuana in the kitchen cupboard.

Charles, police said, later admitted to owning the suspected marijuana and was arrested.

He is currently in police custody.

Subsequently, the ranks traveled to Uitvlugt, WCD, where contact was made with Deon Carew, a 38-year-old regional sports manager.

A search was also carried out on his person and his premises but nothing illegal was found.

However, he was informed of an allegation against him that he obtained credit under false pretenses from Sheldon Abrams on September 4, 2024 in Uitvlugt.

Police said he was warned and he responded: “I will deal with this man.”

He was arrested and escorted to Leonora Police Station, where he was remanded in custody pending further investigation.
