Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: FMCG stocks fall as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks ended Wednesday’s session with gains.

Hatsun Agro Products Ltd. (up 2.28%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd. (up 2.12%), Hindustan Foods Ltd. (up 1.44%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd. (up 1.37%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd. (up 1.33%), Prataap Snacks Ltd. (up 1.26%), Dabur India Ltd. (up 0.99%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialties Ltd. (up 0.78%), Varun Beverages Ltd. (up 0.68%) and Tasty Bite Among the biggest gainers was Eatables Ltd. (up 0.58%).

Heritage Foods Ltd. (down 5.00%), Marico Ltd. (down 2.75%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd. (down 2.69%), ADF Foods Ltd. (down 1.78% ), Britannia Industries Ltd. (down 1.43%), Honasa Consumer Ltd. (down 1.27%), Jyothy Labs Ltd. (down 1.11%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (down 1. 09%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 0.97%) and Dodla Dairy Ltd. (down 0.88%) were among the biggest losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the session up 58.11 points at 23,322.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 149.98 points at 76,606.57.

Coal India Ltd. (up 2.6%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (up 2.56%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (up 1.94%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (up by 1.73%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up by 1.57%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (up by 1.35%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (up by 1.12%), NTPC Ltd. ( up 1.07%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (up 1.02%) and UltraTech Cement Ltd. (up 1.02%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty. Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (down by 1.7%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (down by 1.43%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (down by 1.09%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down by 0.97%), Titan Company Ltd. (down 0.84%), Infosys Ltd. (down 0.71%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (down 0.68%), Axis Bank Ltd. (down 0.57%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (down 0.54%) and Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 0.52%) closed in the red.
