The Glow Your Mind 5K, hosted by the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County, recently lit up Jackson-Taylor Park as runners, walkers and supporters gathered to show their commitment to mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

One of the highlights of the evening was a donation from Brad Barmore, founder of Eager to Run, a company dedicated to connecting people who want to run, jog or walk in community, motivation and education. Barmore’s contribution will help advance the Suicide Prevention Alliance’s mission to promote mental wellness and provide resources to those who need them.

“Eager to Run is about building a community that motivates and encourages each other, and we are proud to support the Suicide Prevention Alliance in their efforts to do the same,” Barmore said. “It’s an honor to be part of an event that brings people together for such an important cause. »

David Reinhardt of Trackqua provided timekeeping for the race. The evening concluded with a light show featuring music by DJ Vic, photos by Jermaine James Photography and makeup by Jen’s Festive Faces Painting. Sponsors and supporters included the Resource Center, GLYS of Western NY, attendees, local businesses and other organizations that made this event a success. The Fredonia State University women’s lacrosse team cheered on the participants.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the participants, community partners and volunteers who showed up, stepped up and stood up for suicide prevention. Together, we truly make a difference and spread a message of hope and support,” said Carri Raynor, director of the Suicide Prevention Alliance. “A special thank you to Brad Barmore and Eager 2 Run for their generous donation and the medals for our runners – it was a wonderful surprise at the end of the race.”

The Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County is dedicated to protecting and promoting life by fostering shared responsibility through community awareness and support. For more information, visit Preventsuicidechq.com.
