A 17-member search committee has been named to help lead a global search for the next dean of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, JHU President Ron Daniels announced today in a message to the university community.

The committee will be chaired by Dean Ray Jayawardhana and will include representatives from across the university. Ellen J. MacKenzie, an internationally renowned public health practitioner who has served as the 11th dean of the Bloomberg School since October 2017, announced last month that she would step down from her role as dean at the end of her term. June.

The committee will seek to identify a successor “to build on the pioneering legacy of the Bloomberg School and define its future vision for the continued pursuit of a healthier world,” Daniels wrote. “Our next leader will work alongside our exceptional faculty, students and staff to advance the Bloomberg School’s leadership in public health research, education and practice.”
