Bayernhafen Nurnberg encouraged investment in Cambodia’s logistics sector

Sun Chanthol, deputy prime minister and first vice-chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), encouraged Germany’s Bayernhafen Nurnberg to invest in Cambodia in the transport and logistics sectors.

The encouragement was given when Sun Chanthol led a delegation consisting of concerned ministries/institutions, the Cambodian Oknha Association and the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, which visited the Bayernhafen Center in Nuremberg after a warm welcome by its Director General Ingmar Shellhas. Rhine-Main-Danube Canal to learn about the center’s experience in the field of mega-investment in transport and logistics, and basically the use of the canal to facilitate transport from water to rail.

Bayernhafen Nurnberg is one of the most important freight transport and logistics centers in Europe.

Earlier in the day, the Cambodian delegation attended a working lunch hosted by HE Dr. Andrea Heilmaier, Vice Mayor of Nuremberg, Germany.

On this occasion, Chanthol expressed hope that this time the visit to Germany would further foster bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the investment and business sectors.

For her part, Dr. Andrea Heilmaier expressed her commitment to economic cooperation between Cambodia and Germany, the city of Nuremberg. ACP
