Yankees Announce Leading Player for Game 2 of World Series

Rodón then returned in Game 2 of the ALCS against the Cleveland Guardians, picking up the win by pitching six innings and allowing just one run on three hits along with nine strikeouts.

His last start this postseason, against Cleveland in Game 5 of the ALCS, was shaky again. Despite striking out six and allowing just two runs on five hits, Rodón lasted just 4.2 innings; He found himself in a tight spot in the fifth over and had to face the Guardians’ heartthrob, which resulted in his departure after 85 overs. The left-hander ultimately got a no-decision as the Bronx Bombers clinched the series in extra innings.

Even though Rodón has posted a 4.40 ERA so far in the postseason, Aaron Boone continues to give him the ball in Game 2 in hopes of containing the Dodgers’ dangerous lineup.
