Kaspersky provides improved apps for iOS and Android

KASPERSKY announces the release of improved mobile apps for iOS and Android, with updates focused on security, privacy and improved usability. Among the new features available in the iOS app are a Security Scan button, a private browsing option, and a Siri shortcut feature that effortlessly enables VPN.

According to StatCounter data, mobile devices currently account for almost 60% of global web traffic. With the increasing use of mobile devices, it is extremely important that users keep their cybersecurity robust and comprehensive.

To ensure the safety of mobile users, Kaspersky presents updated applications for iOS and Android. These improvements offer new features that provide a higher level of protection in the digital world, greater privacy and better usability, ensuring a smooth and convenient user experience.

Kaspersky for iOS devices has been updated with a set of new features:

• Security Scan button that checks all security systems on the smartphone and helps users enable the most effective protection mode. For example, users can receive recommendations to enable VPN, anti-phishing protection, and other security features.

• Private browsing extension for Safari. It prevents tracking systems from collecting information about user activity in order to monitor their behavior. Additionally, iOS owners can use the Banner Blocker element of Safari to block banner ads, including potentially malicious ones.

• Siri Shortcut feature for enhanced usability: By simply tapping a button and saying “Hey Siri,” users can effortlessly turn VPN on and off using voice commands. This option is available for VPN-equipped consumer solutions such as Kaspersky VPN standalone, Kaspersky Premium, and Kaspersky Plus.

The privacy protection of both mobile platforms has been improved with a new identity theft checking feature. It allows users to track all leaks from accounts associated with a specific phone number and take immediate protective measures, such as changing the password of the affected account. Currently, Identity Theft Check is only available in the most comprehensive consumer tier – Kaspersky Premium – and can be activated on your smartphone after purchase on the Kaspersky website. Later this year, Kaspersky Premium will also be available for purchase directly in applications.

Another long-awaited update is dark mode. This is an important aspect of UX design available on both iOS and Android platforms, allowing users to enjoy a more convenient viewing experience.

“Because we spend a significant amount of time online on our smartphones, mobile devices require protection that is as strong, if not stronger, than that available on desktop computers. We are constantly developing and improving our mobile apps for iOS and Android, including a wide range of features for comprehensive protection, including anti-phishing, VPN, anti-spyware, online privacy, identity protection and, of course, antivirus. The highest quality of our protection is further confirmed by independent testing organizations such as AV-Comparatives, which recognized our line of consumer products as Product of the Year 2023,” comments Marina Titova, vice president of consumer product marketing at Kaspersky.
