CoopVoce extends VoLTE support to Google Pixel devices

CoopVoce, a virtual mobile operator, has improved its 4G calling capabilities by updating its list of Voice over LTE (VoLTE)-enabled smartphones. It is worth noting that this update includes the addition of several Google Pixel models that were not previously on the list.

Customers are reminded to ensure their devices have the latest software version installed to enable CoopVoce’s VoLTE technology. For Android devices in particular, an update to Android 13 is necessary to ensure compatibility. The newly added Google Pixel smartphones include Google Pixel 6, 6A, 6Pro, 7, 7A, 7Pro, 8, 8A, 8Pro and Google Pixel Fold.

With these additions, Google Pixel phones now join the list of devices fully compatible with CoopVoce’s VoLTE service. The operator indicated that models released from June 1, 2024 and newer will be supported by default.

The service also works seamlessly with various models from other leading manufacturers such as Samsung, Apple, Honor, Motorola, Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo and TCL. For example, CoopVoce is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy series, ranging from the Galaxy A04s to the latest foldable phones, as well as the company’s wide range of tablets.

As for Apple, CoopVoce supports a wide range of iPhones, starting from the iPhone 7 series to the latest iPhone 14 models.

Keeping true to its commitment to embrace technology, Honor models from Magic 5 Lite 5G to Honor X8 are on the list, and all Honor models released from January 2023 are VoLTE compatible.

Motorola enthusiasts can also enjoy the cutting-edge VoLTE service on select devices such as the Moto e22 and the sleek Motorola Edge series, with models launched from January 2023 onwards compatible.

Moreover, CoopVoce did not omit Huawei’s innovative offers, including devices such as Mate X3 and P60 Pro. For those who enjoy using Oppo smartphones, the latest March 2024 update included the Oppo A98 5G among others.

This comprehensive compatibility gives CoopVoce users the freedom to choose from a wide range of smartphones while enjoying high-quality VoLTE voice calls.

Advantages and disadvantages of VoLTE
Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology creates a number of advantages and potential challenges for both service providers like CoopVoce and their customers:

Advantages:
Improved call quality: VoLTE enables voice calls in HD (High Definition), which significantly improves call clarity and reduces background noise.
Effective use of spectrum: By using the LTE network for voice calls, operators can offer more efficient use of the radio spectrum.
Faster connection times: VoLTE has been reported to establish calls faster than traditional methods.

Inconveniences:
Compatible device requirements: The service can only be used by VoLTE-enabled smartphones, which could potentially exclude users who do not have compatible phones.
Different implementation standards: VoLTE quality and services may vary from operator to operator, leading to inconsistencies.

Key challenges and controversies:
One of the main challenges with VoLTE is that not all regions have LTE coverage, which may limit usage for some customers. Additionally, the requirement that both callers have VoLTE and network-enabled devices to enjoy full quality can be restrictive.

There is often controversy over the interoperability of VoLTE services across operators, and sometimes service providers may prioritize their own network traffic, which can impact call quality.
