A song to calm down x adidas Shadowturf IF9403 GY7017

While timeless classics like the adidas Samba reign supreme, the Three Stripes brand has simultaneously embraced Y2K footwear trends, bringing back archival silhouettes along with new retro-inspired models.

In 2022, adidas turned to Australian fashion label Song for the Mute (SFTM) to help launch the adidas Shadowturf, a new 2000s-inspired model that first hit the market in a collaborative “Crimson” colorway. Many Three Stripes fans consider this model to be one of the more exciting releases of the year, paving the way for more signature adidas footwear and apparel in SFTM’s seasonal collections. If you’ve been following the Sydney-based brand in hopes of more Shadowturf drops, we’ve got some good news for you; two new colorways will be available on June 21 via adidas CONFIRMED.

While they share a distinct Y2K look and feel, the two shoes differ drastically in terms of material composition. The “Core Black” edition features canvas overlays and plush terry cloth stripes on the sides, softening the shoe’s high-end treatment and giving it an avant-garde look. Meanwhile, its counterpart takes a much more conservative route, sporting slightly different shades of “Cloud White” and “Cream White” and a more traditional mix of leather and black mesh.

Both pairs will release via the adidas CONFIRMED app on June 21, 2024 for $160 each, which is a notable drop in the GR Shadowturf colorway lineup. Check out detailed photos of both options below and tap on the sneaker release dates to see more upcoming Three Stripes releases.
