The Solana Pay plugin allows merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments at reduced fees. All this while offering real-time conversion to stablecoins such as USDC, EURC, PYUSD and USDY. The latter is a tokenized note backed by short-term US treasury bills and demand deposits.

The goal of this new version is to integrate millions of sellers with cryptocurrency trading. Additionally, to set a new standard for e-commerce payments by improving the payment experience, enhancing customer loyalty programs and integrating Web3 functionality.

Stijn Paumen, CEO and co-founder of Helio, commented that merchants can easily reach customers by installing Solana Pay in “a few simple clicks”. “Enabling the largest e-commerce platform to accept cryptocurrency payments faster than card payments is a significant step towards mass adoption of cryptocurrency payments.”

Advantages of upgrading Solana Pay

The Solana Pay plugin update introduced several noteworthy features and benefits. First, it introduced a transaction fee of 0.75%. These “competitive” fees are necessary to “support ongoing innovation and operating costs.” The plugin then includes a quick access feature via the Helio dashboard, allowing customers to fund their cryptocurrency wallets in their preferred currency.
