A procyclist performs stunts on a wind turbine to raise awareness of climate change

To raise awareness about climate change, a man rode his bicycle on the blade of a wind turbine.

Ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference Cop26, Scottish cyclist Danny Macaskill cycled through a turbine, a feat that had never been attempted before.

He also performed a series of tricks at a renewable energy factory to demonstrate how much of the world’s energy currently comes from renewable sources.

“It’s so high it doesn’t feel high, it’s unrealistically high,” Macaskill said.

“I will say that fiberglass and bike tires don’t go together very well, they’re slippery.

“I made this video for Cop26 and I didn’t realize how much renewable energy there was… It’s good to know that renewable energy is gaining popularity and the balance is changing.

“I hope the planet starts to heal.”

Before Cop26, Mr. Macaskill performed 29 tricks for the film, representing 29% of the world’s daily renewable energy.

Driving through a wind turbine blade was the last stunt in this series.

To watch the film in its entirety, the Climate Games with YouTube Originals premiere on Danny MacAskill’s channel on Saturday.
