Here are the steps that may help you with read receipts in Gmail

  1. Sign in to your Google Workspace account.
  2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner and select “Settings.”
  3. On the “General” tab, scroll down to the “Read Receipts” section.
  4. Check the box next to “Request read receipt.”
  5. Click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

Using read receipts

You can request a read receipt to see when someone opened the email you sent. You will receive a read receipt email containing the time and date your message was viewed. Your read receipt list will appear in your inbox. Before you receive a notification, the recipient of your message may need to approve the read receipt.
