CEBU CITY, Philippines – Police detained several young adults and minors who participated in riots in Liloan City in northern Cebu last Sunday, June 16, with videos going viral on social media.

On Monday, June 17, the Liloan Police Station confirmed that at least 10 people had been arrested for taking part in the brawl in Brgy. Poblacion last Sunday at dawn.

Among those arrested were three minors aged 16 and 17, and the rest were young adults aged 18 and 19.

The fight broke out around 4:30 a.m. outside a bar in Brgy. Poblacion. It started in a bar when a group of male teenagers suddenly hit a boy.

The boy’s 19-year-old friend said they went outside to find the attackers. They came across another group of teenagers wandering around and asked if they were responsible for the hit.

However, instead of responding verbally, the group started throwing stones at them and even threatened to shoot them. In retaliation, a 19-year-old who asked not to be named said he chased the other group, which turned into a fistfight.
