Appspace improves collaboration with Microsoft Teams Rooms integration

Appspace announced the integration of its Digital Signage solution with Microsoft Teams Rooms to increase employee engagement and collaboration.

Appspace’s unified workplace experience platform has designed the integration to support more dynamic interactions in meeting environments.

Appspace integration is designed to transform idle Teams Rooms devices that only display static backgrounds and room calendars into vibrant communication hubs. It enables customers to distribute a variety of digital signage content, messages and alerts while maintaining access to key information in Teams rooms, including the room name and calendar preview.

Thomas Philippart de Foy, Chief Innovation Officer at Appspacehe said:

Employees expect and deserve consumer experiences when using technology in the workplace, and this integration eliminates complexity, increases productivity and delivers greater value from technology investments. Together with Microsoft, Appspace continues to demonstrate our commitment to providing an end-to-end platform that advances the modern workplace.”

This integration provides a centralized playlist and content management system for organizations, enabling seamless sharing and global management across any collaboration space. This ensures that both employees and guests receive consistent and up-to-date information, which improves communication and engagement in the workplace.

The integration aims to elevate the employee experience and support a more informed and connected work environment by transforming meeting spaces into dynamic information hubs.

“In today’s evolving hybrid workplace, digital signage solutions help employees stay informed and connected,” he added Albert Kooiman, Senior Director of Microsoft Teams Partner Engineering and Certification at Microsoft. “Appspace integration with Microsoft Teams Rooms enables companies to share important information in many more spaces and improves the employee experience in meeting rooms.”

Appspace launched integration with Microsoft Teams last year

Last year’s launch of Appspace for Teams on desktop and mobile devices was a significant improvement to the Appspace suite for Microsoft.

It provided employees with a seamless work environment, accommodating various work arrangements, including in-person, hybrid or remote work. This flexibility ensures that all team members, regardless of location, can stay connected and informed, creating a consistent and productive work environment.

“Last year, we launched Appspace for Microsoft to extend Microsoft capabilities and better connect the physical and digital workplace as part of a natural workflow,” said de Foy. “Our seamless integration with Microsoft Teams further increases productivity and communication, whether employees are working from home, in the office or on the road.”

What other team room news emerged at Infocomm 2024?

Last week’s Infocomm 2024 conference was significant for Microsoft Teams Rooms as Microsoft unveiled some eye-catching updates to meeting intelligence.

Microsoft is making Teams Rooms smarter with features like Smart Meeting Summary and Copilot. These add-ons are designed to enrich the meeting experience by providing users with detailed information, summaries, and action items from conversation transcripts.

To ensure that individual speech is captured accurately, Microsoft suggests users record their voice, which also helps improve background noise removal technology. This technology is now in public preview and is expected to be available in every Teams room.

What’s more, Team Copilot aims to revolutionize note-taking during meetings, whether they are scheduled or offline. When you enter a Teams room and scan the QR code, Team Copilot will automatically join the meeting to help you take notes. This proactive approach from Microsoft means a commitment to deploying intelligent tools in every collaboration space, improving productivity and improving communication.

Meanwhile, Crestron announced the availability of Crestron Control for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows operating systems. Microsoft Teams users gain new room control for their UCs to enable automation of in-room meetings and presentations.
