Xodus launches a dedicated renewable energy engineering arm

Global energy consultancy Xodus has launched a new dedicated renewable energy engineering arm, Evolv Energies, to strengthen its capabilities in offshore markets.

Evolv Energies was established to provide broader engineering services as global development evolves.

The new entity targets energy transformation contracts at the stage of technological concept, preliminary FEED, FEED and detailed design of offshore projects.

Evolv Energies will work closely with Xodus, which will maintain the more strategic advisory elements, from early project development through to operations and maintenance.

Chris Finnigan will lead the team at Evolv Energies as vice president.

The newly established company planned to employ 150 people by the end of 2025.

“We have heard from customers that the renewable energy market needs a new engineering offering that will open up huge opportunities for offshore wind energy. To meet the 2050 targets, almost 8,000 new wind turbines will be needed in the UK and almost 81,000 new wind turbines globally.

“We therefore know there is a gap in the market for us as countries around the world increasingly explore energy transition options, and Evolv Energies is well-positioned to deliver what our customers need.

“We felt that to deliver concept, Pre-FEED, FEED and detailed design to the marine renewable energy market, we had to think differently and be bold. This is a natural progression of what Xodus excels at” – Steve Swindell, CEO of Xodus.

“This new, focused engineering service will enable infrastructure sectors and the broader energy transition market. Evolv Energies will support the development of renewable energy sources with technical engineering and commercial expertise, insight and guidance, enabling projects to be delivered quickly,” added Chris Finnigan, who will lead the team at Evolv Energies as Vice President.
