Renewable Energy Procurement Survey | UKGBC

In August 2023, UKGBC published updated renewable energy procurement guidance to help stakeholders sourcing energy from the built environment understand how to do so in a way that makes a significant difference to the decarbonization of the electricity system as a whole.

The guidelines define three principles for high-quality public procurement and set out a number of recommended actions to respond to these requirements. It also creates a set of quantitative indicators and qualitative questions to secure the necessary information from energy suppliers in order to compare the electrical products offered to you in a standardized way. Using this information, the guidelines then provide a system for assessing a building’s overall energy strategy, including energy purchasing, on-site energy generation and energy management. This rating system helps you determine how effectively your building is contributing to accelerating the transition to a resilient, zero-emission energy network.

Now, almost a year since its launch, we’re looking for your feedback on how the guidelines came to be to help us refine and improve them. Share your thoughts and experiences with us via a short survey. (estimated completion time: 5 minutes)
