SAMFA announces the upcoming exhibition “New Acquisitions”.

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Home Page) – The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts has announced a new exhibit in July that will include several new items that will be on public viewing for a limited time only.

According to SAMFA, the exhibition, titled “New Acquisitions,” is “the first public exhibition of nearly 40 new items to the collection of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts.” The exhibition will feature several works of art, including contemporary works and works made during the early centuries of the Lone Star State.

“From early Texas engravings and drawings to contemporary paintings and sculptures, the gifts presented in this exhibition have enriched and expanded the Texas Art and Ceramics Museum’s collections, two of SAMFA’s primary areas of collecting,” SAMFA said.

The exhibition will also include gifts and purchased gifts from artists recognized at state, national and world levels. The collection will feature works by the following artists:

  • Velma Davis Dozier
  • Xavier Gonzalez
  • Roger Allen
  • Akio Takamori
  • Jack Earl
  • Lee Albert Hill
  • Jesus Toro Martinez
  • Connie Connally
  • Tom Coleman
  • Frank Boyden

The “new acquisitions” will be made available to visitors on July 4 during museum opening hours and will be available for viewing until September 29.
