Key F1 calendar change REVEALED ahead of 2026 regulations

With the changes representing the most significant change to engine regulations since the introduction of turbocharged hybrids in 2014, F1 bosses are ready to adjust the calendar to give teams enough time to prepare.

German AMuS journalist Tobias Grüner revealed: “The decision regarding winter tests in 2026 has already been made.

“With a major rule change imminent regarding the use of brand new race cars, a two-week test is scheduled again – as was the case in 2022 when ground effect cars were introduced.

“Then the tests lasted three days each in Barcelona and Bahrain.”
