iPad Pro paves the way for thinner devices

The recently launched iPad Pro with the M4 chip is Apple’s thinnest product ever. However, more devices are expected to follow suit and the super slim trend in the future. Recent reports have shed light on these plans.

Apple’s latest tablet is noticeably thinner than its predecessor, and the faster M4 chip provides good power while maintaining previous battery life. The iPad Pro’s chassis doesn’t appear to suffer from any structural weaknesses, moving away from the issues that plagued previous models. Remember the MacBook keyboards released between 2015 and 2019? Designed specifically for thin construction, they had reliability issues. Fortunately, it looks like the latest tablet is durable enough, paving the way for thinner devices that are reliable and durable enough.

Apple iPad Pro: a template for a thinner iPhone and more

Bloomberg’s usually well-informed reporter Mark Gurman revealed additional details about Apple’s future plans in his Power On newsletter. Recently, the company has lost interest in developing ever thinner and lighter hardware, as the shock of its terrible keyboards may have still lingered in the minds of those responsible. The new iPad Pro has changed the paradigm.

According to Gurman, the company plans to launch a much thinner iPhone 17, which is scheduled for release in 2025. At the same time, work is underway to create a thinner MacBook Pro and Apple Watch. “The latest iPad Pro is intended to usher in a new class of Apple devices, which are expected to be the thinnest and lightest products in their category in the world,” Gurman mentioned.

Last month, there were rumors that Apple was working on an “iPhone 17 Slim”. According to these rumors, several variants have allegedly been tested internally.

Shortly after the Bloomberg report, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote something similar about the Apple Watch. Series 10 is advertised and will receive a new look. In addition to the larger display, the next version of the smartwatch is expected to lose some weight. As in the case of the Watch Ultra, the case will grow from a maximum of 45 to 49 mm. The smaller model is said to offer a 45mm chassis diameter instead of the current 41mm.

However, he does not expect any major changes to the Ultra model. If the production line allows it, Apple could offer us new housing colors. As before, there is talk of a black model once again.

Do you think moving in this direction will also influence Android smartphone manufacturers to adopt thinner and more robust housings? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
