INDONESIA will impose anti-dumping duties on imports of ceramic tiles from China from October 24, according to a Finance Ministry regulation released this week.

The duties will be introduced after an investigation showed “that there was dumping of ceramic tile products from China, causing losses to domestic industries”, the ministry said.

The duties, in effect for five years, will be imposed on around 30 companies, with a rate ranging from about 13,446 rupees (S$1.1349) per square meter to 94,544 rupees per square meter.

Earlier this month, Indonesia also imposed anti-dumping duties on certain flat-rolled iron products from China, South Korea and Taiwan. REUTERS
