Microsoft regains the most valuable position of the company in the world from Nvidia

American multinational corporation and technology company Microsoft has regained the top position as the world’s most valuable company from artificial intelligence chipmaker Nvidia. This comes after Nvidia’s share price fell 3.5 percent on Thursday.

Nvidia shares fell to $130.78. This dropped its value to approximately $3.22 trillion. On the other hand, Microsoft shares held steady above $3.3 trillion after closing at $445.70, down 0.14%.

Nvidia took the top spot after a share price surge that raised its value to $3.34 trillion. Despite the slight decline, Nvidia continues to maintain incredible growth, with its price almost doubling since the beginning of this year. Eight years ago, the company’s stock was worth less than 1 percent of its current price.

Microsoft, Nvidia and Apple are in a three-horse race for the company’s most valuable position. All three giants have market valuations of over $3 trillion.
