Kaufland offers loans as a means of payment

The German online platform Kaufland cooperates with Consors Finanz, a consumer credit provider and part of the BNP Paribas Group. Online buyers can now avail loan financing options to purchase products on the platform.

Kaufland, part of the Schwarz Group, is a hypermarket chain from Germany with an online market that will be launched in Poland and Austria at the end of summer. According to the company, more than 11,000 retailers sell through the Kaufland platform. In total, they offer over 45 million products.

New payment method

In April, the company announced that it would raise commissions for sellers. Now the company is announcing another change to the platform. It is adding a new “buy now, pay later” payment method for its customers by adding its Consors Finanz loan financing solution.

Payments to retailers are processed through an escrow account

Customers can apply for an installment loan when ordering online and will receive a response within minutes. Payments to retailers are processed through an escrow account. For Consors Finanz, this is the first partnership with the market.

“Favorable conditions”

“We are pleased that this cooperation will expand the range of payment methods for our marketplace customers with an attractive financing option. With Consors Finanz as a strong partner, we can offer extremely favorable conditions in the area of consumer loans,” said Gerald Schönbucher, Member of the Management Board of Kaufland e-commerce.
