Bauchi government will revive the tourism sector

The Bauchi State government has announced plans to revitalize the tourism sector, noting that it is aimed at attracting tourists from far and wide.

This was revealed by the Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Abdul Hassan, during a conversation with state ambassadors for tourism who paid him a courtesy call at his office on Thursday.

He said the state is committed to unlocking its enormous tourism potential, maintaining that key projects are underway, including the renovation of the iconic Yankari Game Reserve, which has achieved a 50% completion rate.

“The solar energy installation is intended to solve the long-standing problem of inconsistency in national grids.

“These events signal a new era in tourism in Bauchi State as it showcases its unique cultural heritage and natural wonders to the world,” the commissioner said.

The Commissioner for Tourism and Culture urged the ambassadors to act as tourism ambassadors of Bauchi State by sharing their experiences and spreading the word to the global community about the wonders of the Yankari Wildlife Sanctuary.

He also praised the CEO of Yankari Game Reserve for his visionary leadership and commitment to protecting and promoting the natural beauty and cultural significance of the reserve.

On his part, Yankari Game Reserve Director General Muhammad Yusuf, who led the delegation to the commissioner’s office, emphasized the crucial role of tourism ambassadors in ensuring the smooth functioning of Yankari Game Reserve and other tourist attractions in the state.

He expressed optimism that with the current intervention of the state government, the Yankari Game Reserve would generate more revenue for the state than any other sector.
