A visible police presence will remain in the Sunbury Lock area “for the remainder of the week” as the search for a missing rower continues, Surrey Police said.

Five people were rescued by Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, Coastguard and police after a boat capsized in the River Thames on October 11.

A rower, a man in his 60s, remains missing after entering the water near Wheatleys Eyot.

Police said his family were being supported by a specialist officer.
