KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Xinhua) — There is a 260-acre solar power plant in Kuala Ketil, the southern part of Kedah state in Malaysia.

The power plant was built by China Energy Engineering Group Tianjin Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd., and its installed capacity is 50 MW. It began commercial operations in 2019.

In line with the global trend of decarbonization and sustainable development, Malaysia has been working hard in recent years to get rid of its over-dependence on fossil fuels and increase the use of renewable energy in power generation. China’s leadership in the solar industry provides not only the equipment but also the technology for Malaysia’s green transformation.
