Gunfire breaks out along the LoC in Uri sector

There was an encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday evening.

The firing took place when security forces launched a search operation in the Bajrang-Uri sector after receiving specific information about the presence of some infiltrating terrorists, officials told news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

They said the hiding terrorists opened fire on the security personnel who retaliated, thus triggering the firing.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Army Corps in a post under “X” wrote: “Based on specific intelligence, an anti-infiltration operation was launched in the Uri sector. Contact has been made with infiltrating terrorists and operations are ongoing.”
