Bamboo (https://InvestBamboo.com) Systems Technology Limited (“Bamboo”), a leading African online brokerage firm, today announced that it has received a digital sub-broker license from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria (SEC), enabling the company to operate in the Nigerian capital market, as well as listing Nigerian securities on its platform.

The SEC’s issuance of a license to Bamboo provides oversight of its relationship with its sponsoring broker, Lambeth Capital, while authorizing it to enter into partnerships with multiple brokers to serve its clients. The license will also enable Bamboo to deepen relationships with financial services providers to offer API services.

Bamboo is focused on its commitment to best practices and enabling retail investors to trade local securities on the Nigerian Exchange Group.

In 2021, Bamboo began the rigorous application process for its SEC digital subbroker license, which was introduced this year. This included an in-depth analysis of the finances and management process.

“We are thrilled to have achieved this important milestone and are fully committed to our responsibilities as a registered digital broker. Since the launch of Bamboo, we have been working every day to deliver the best technology solutions, backed by industry best practices, to enable Nigerian retail investors to access an unprecedented range of digital securities to build long-term wealth. We are grateful for our partnership with the SEC, which has demonstrated its commitment to protecting investors while enabling innovation to flourish,” said Richmond Bassey, CEO and co-founder of Bamboo.
