“We can be a renewable energy superpower”: Tanya Plibersek

Environment and Water Minister Tanya Plibersek says Australians are “well-prepared” to use renewable energy sources.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton announced the Coalition’s nuclear energy plan last week.

“Internationally, we are very well positioned to use renewables here,” Ms Plibersek told Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell.

“So far I have approved over 50, about 54 renewable energy projects – enough to power millions of Australian homes.

“We have the space, we have the resources, we have the most important minerals that we need.

“We could be a renewable energy superpower and instead… he (Peter Dutton) wants to push us into the slower lane.”
