KPDN coordinates appeals from the transport industry for SKDS

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) is coordinating appeals from certain transport sectors wishing to participate in the Subsidized Diesel Control Scheme (SKDS) to be forwarded to the Appeals Committee.

Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the matter would then be brought before the Cabinet for consideration.

He said complete applications for 33 modes of public land transport and goods would be approved immediately.

The application can be submitted via the link https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my/ and an approval letter will be issued immediately to enable selected transport companies to apply for a fleet card through the same system.

“The application process is easy and quick as the company only needs to provide limited information and confirmation can be made instantly thanks to integration with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) system,” he said in a statement today.

He appealed to companies included in the list of 33 types of public land transport and goods eligible for SKDS to report immediately.

“For permits obtained before June 30, 2024, shipping companies are to apply for reimbursement of subsidy price expenditure rates based on proof of purchase until they receive fleet cards from selected oil companies,” he said.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Finance of June 12, refunds will be made from July 2024 for people who registered and received SKDS consent before and on June 30, which we will inform you about at a later date.

Armizan said that in case of misuse of a fleet card, KPDN will not hesitate to take stringent action, including withdrawing the approval of a vehicle’s fleet card.

He said KPDN also urges all dealers, especially those who receive diesel subsidy under the fleet card, not to increase prices once the new diesel price is set.

As of 08:00 today, the total number of public transport vehicles and goods approved for diesel subsidy under the SKDS is 226,957 and covers 75,541 companies.
