Starting Monday, the Google app will disappear from millions of devices

Google will shut down one of its popular apps tomorrow. The app will disappear from millions of devices in the UK when it closes permanently on Monday, June 24.

Users with accounts will be given a few extra days to transfer their content after closing the app. The app was launched in 2018, but its features are now being merged with YouTube.

Google announced it was shutting down its Google Podcasts podcast app last September. It was shut down in the US in April.

People who use Google Podcasts can transfer their show subscriptions to YouTube Music or export them for use in another podcast app. They will have until the end of June to make any transfers.

Google Podcast Manager will remain live until June 29 so that users can migrate their accounts to YouTube Music. One user wrote on X: “I don’t care if I sound like a grandpa.

“Why does every music service so want me to listen to podcasts on their app? I don’t want to use my music app for podcasts. I want them separated. It’s better when they are apart.”
