Hollywood-style Kalamazoo gala raises funds to support Alzheimer’s disease

The Heritage Legacy Fund of Kalamazoo held a gala Thursday evening to support funding for people with Alzheimer’s disease.

It was their eleventh annual fundraising gala, and this time with a Hollywood twist.

“We’re getting a really great response from local residents or local families here in Kalamazoo wanting to support the cause,” said Julie Deppner, president and CEO of the Kalamazoo Heritage Community. “Many of them have parents, or even grandparents, who lived here at Heritage…Our staff is here to support the legacy fund, but it’s really something that so many are really passionate about. people to be able to take care of our elders.

News Channel 3’s Kirk Mason will host Thursday evening’s event.

Proceeds from the gala benefit the Heritage Legacy Fund to support Kalamazoo seniors.

Additionally, the annual “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” will take place Saturday at Bronson Park in Kalamazoo, starting at 10 a.m.

The fundraising event takes place in more than 600 communities across the country.

All funds raised during the walk will be donated to the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
