YouTube Stable Volume is now available on Android TV devices – here’s everything you need to know about the update your ears are sure to love

Weird sound mixing is a really annoying problem. How many times have you watched a movie or movie where the sound sounds good and the dialogue is extremely quiet?

Google is helping viewers by expanding YouTube’s stable volume feature from the mobile app to “Android TV and Google TV devices.” According to 9To5Google, it’s a handy tool that automatically adjusts the “volume of the videos you’re watching” without having to reach for the remote control.

According to the story, the “Stable Volume” feature ensures a consistent listening experience “by constantly balancing the volume range between quiet and loud portions” of a video. After installing YouTube version 4.40.303 on Android TV, they discovered this feature.

If you select the gear icon while playing a video, you should see a Stable Volume option in the Settings menu. It will be located between the subtitles and the playback speed feature.

It’s on by default, but you can turn it off at any time by selecting it while viewing content. 9To5Google recommends turning off stable volume when listening to music or playing video with a “detailed audio mix.” Activating this feature may potentially affect sound quality. Plus, YouTube Music isn’t available on Android TV or Google TV devices, so you won’t have a dedicated space for songs.

It is important to mention that YouTube’s official Stable Volume support page states that it is not available for all videos and it will not negatively impact your music. We believe this note is outdated because it also states that this tool is only available on the YouTube mobile app. It’s quite possible that the Android TV and Google TV versions may behave differently.

Be sure to look out for the patch when it arrives. It joins other YouTube on TV features introduced in 2024, such as Multiview and automatically generated key moments.
