Update to Official Baseball World Cup and Baseball Softball Confederation WBSC Tournament Rules – World Baseball Softball Confederation

Updated versions of the WBSC Official Baseball Rules and the WBSC Baseball World Cups Tournament Rules are now available online following rule changes approved by the WBSC Board of Directors in April.

Rule changes provide that on-field limits for the U-12, U-15 and U-18 Baseball World Cup will be cumulative on a daily basis to further protect young athletes and provide more rest days when a pitcher is on the mound for three consecutive days.

Three changes also specifically affect the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup, which has removed the re-entry rule and designated hitter. The bat performance factor (BPF) has also been reduced from 1.15 to 1, which is equivalent to the BPF of one-piece wooden bats.

The WBSC Baseball World Cup Tournament Regulations also include important changes to doping control procedures (A5), conduct, infractions, fines and suspensions (A7), appeals (B4) and the delivery of notices (B5).

The first WBSC Baseball World Cup to feature the new rules and regulations will be the 2024 WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals presented by CARNEXT, the first of four baseball events remaining in the 2024 WBSC international season.
