International law firm Sidley Austin has strengthened its antitrust practice with the addition of Corey Roush, who has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office.

Prior to joining Sidley, Roush worked at the global law firm Akin as global chair of its antitrust and international competition practice.

Roush advises clients on a range of antitrust, consumer protection and class action matters. He advised on the antitrust approval process for complex transactions and led numerous merger lawsuits against the government. Roush also has experience in internal investigations, white-collar defense and a variety of other complex commercial litigation matters. He has represented clients in federal district and appellate courts throughout the United States.

Kristin Graham Koehler, managing partner of Sidley Austin’s Washington, D.C. office, said, “Corey has experience representing clients before government agencies and has a strong reputation in the D.C. market.” She added: “We are excited about Corey joining our antitrust practice and its recent expansion, which includes the addition of partners Carrie Mahan and Vadim Brusser.”

Co-Head of Global M&A and Private Equity Brian Fahrney commented: “Corey has navigated some of the most challenging transactions and will help us increase our capabilities and depth of merger control.” Fahrney added: “He has earned the trust of his clients across all industries and has carved out a special niche in the life sciences, retail, chemicals and energy industries. He transitions seamlessly between transactions and litigation, and we look forward to his collaboration with partners in the M&A, private equity and litigation practices, and across the firm.”
